for desktop, those rear Mic and line in can be retasked as output to support
surround5.1

for netbook, the headphone can be retasked as Mic.  

for those notebook with three/four jacks , those input jacks and headphone
jacks can also be retasked as line out jacks to support surround 5.1/7.1
