Forgot to reply to this part... It's expected that the "front" and "surroundX"
devices don't show up in pavucontrol. Those devices refer to the same sound
card, the channel configuration is just different. In pavucontrol you will have
just one sink, and you can switch between the channel configurations in the
"Configuration" tab.
