Here are some additional links to help you compile and run the latest version
of PulseAudio:

On Ubuntu, you can install all required build dependencies using this command:

   sudo apt-get build-dep pulseaudio --no-install-recommends

The list of build dependencies can also be found here:

   http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/PulseAudio/Download/

...but maybe it's not updated with the latest stuff.
