Bug ID: 93047
Summary: Confusing name for mic from headset plugged in laptop
jack
Product: PulseAudio
Version: unspecified
Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: daemon
Assignee: pulseaudio-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: bugzilla at hadess.net
QA Contact: pulseaudio-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
CC: lennart at poettering.net
In GNOME, we do not show the profiles of input sources, and the microphone from
a "headset" (Marshall Headphones with a microphone) show up as:
Microphone - Builtin Audio
I thought this was the microphone internal to the laptop. The internal
microphone would actually be called "Internal Microphone - Builtin Audio".
I would have expected to see a different icon (showing an external microphone),
and a name that conveyed that the microphone isn't in the laptop itself.
