A worse problem than what my patches fix? I don't think so.

I don't know. Was it suggested in this bug thread? I tried to search for
"driver", "kernel" and "graphics", and I didn't find a place where that would
have been suggested.

Creating separate ports based on ELD seems like an improvement for some later
time.
