Therefore, I have modified your test case slightly: for step 4, I issued "pactl set-default-sink alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo" instead. Also, I added an extra step before and after it ("pacmd list-sinks | grep "* index: ") to check on the status. I have attached the verbose log files from both v10.0 and v11.1.
