Oh, actually I really liked your code, so I merged it already, in
r1187. Since it didn't touch any other files I saw no risk in doing
so. Thank you very much for your contribution!

I plan to make a few changes to your code (just some "const"s and
simple stuff like that), so if you make any changes, please track
current SVN! 

I would like to offer you SVN write access so that you can make
further changes directly in SVN. Is a user name of "shams" OK for you?
