Doing it "right" for most people === "thinking about the problem and
solving it in a secure manner"
Just because something is no longer identical to how it worked before
does not mean it's "wrong".

Wrong. The authorisation is normally handled by Console Kit and UDEV
applying ACLs correct at the appropriate times for the appropriate users.
Using groups is old and unmanageable from a policy perspective.

How something used to work and how it should work are two completely
different things. Lennart and others have posted perfectly clear
explanations of why the old way was broken and insecure. We've fixed
that problem now. Yay!
Please either argue against these previous comments or accept them and
move on. Saying the same thing over and over without addressing the
points people raise is both rather rude and pointless.
