Lennart,
I got no reply on this list for ten days. That would have been ten days
with PA making xine, Rhythmbox, BBC Iplayer and Audacity all unuseable.
Killing the pulseaudio deamon cures all the problems. I don't need any
of the facilities of Pulse Audio it just gets in the way, so from my
point of view it was good advice......
