It seems safe enough to me, but I'll let Lennart pull this in when he
get's back as I personally think that messing about with the package
after install is insane and should generally be discouraged anyway.
If you really, really want to cock about with the real location after
install, then just use unionfs mounts rather than a house of cards built
on symlinks. I suspect that many subtle and potentially dangerous bug
could result in a plethora of applications from adopting this approach
and from a point of principle, I'm not sure it should be encouraged!
Maybe I'm wrong but that was my first impression!
