@Fabrice - As I recall, Colin said to use a distro which does all this
work for you. To which you replied that you're using Slackware heavily
modified. I'm not sure what sort of modifications you've done, but you
may want to consider Arch or Gentoo if you're the type who must have the
latest latest builds of everything.
