[pulseaudio-discuss] Channel Mode mixer element: 6ch vs. 8ch

Hi,

Just putting this here so I don't forget about it.

Someone on IRC (gee) reported that his surround71 profile wasn't being
detected. This was due to a control in alsamixer that needed to be
configured for 7.1 to work...

I'm not yet sure if 8ch mode breaks something else, (e.g. prevents
surround51 from working), so will ask gee this on IRC and report back.

Simplest solution would just be to force this to 8ch all the time but if
that doesn't work we'll have to be smarter (enabling 8ch only when using
surround71 and setting it to 6ch at all other times).
