I have no Ph.D. Just a stinky old german "Diplom" degree.
Not sure what makes you think this is over-enginereed. Au contraire I
would say, there is a lot of stuff that is way too ad-hoc, if you
understand what i mean.

Dude, if you as your questions on the ML while everyone is on
christmas/new year holidays, you cannot expect immediate and
comprehensive replies.
