Probably. Adding "control=" fixed the problem and sound is back on.

Apparently, PulseAudio mutes the "Multi Track Peak" control. I did not 
catch this earlier, since that channel appear "frozen" in the alsamixer UI.

Anyhow, the problem appears fixed for me now, but if I can provide more 
info that will help others with the same card, please tell me how.
