One thing I would say about MythTV is that it has specific code to
suspend PA. In Mandriva I patch this capability out (or rather flip the
default to not suspend but allow it to be done via an env var). I'm not
sure about how MythTV is packaged in RedHat.
It could be related to this in some capacity.
(I've not looked at the RH bug yet tho' - will do that later)
