Sorry, I meant to reply earlier, but got side tracked.

I'd prefer Lennart commented on this but he's been very distracted by
his work on systemd of late so it may take a while for him to review.

I've not got any immediate comments on the patch, but I had previously
presumed that the existing syslog support would have allowed for remote
debugging via the use of a remote syslog daemon.
