Hi,

I'm resending this mail as I have previously sent it from an unregistered
address and I'm not sure it got through, so apologies if this appears as a
duplicate.

I have an Asus Nvidia GeForce 210 graphics card and am using the HDMI cable
connected to my TV ( which itself connects to the surround sound unit ).
I've only managed to get this to work with the stereo output. If I use any
of the 5.1 options it's just silent ( although the signal monitor in paman
goes crazy as though it should be making noise ). Also when I use
speaker-test -c 6 on two of the outputs it goes through all 6 speakers and
seems to be working, but it is silent. My other TV inputs work find with
surround sound as far as I am able to determine.

Any ideas?

Here's the output of aplay -L:
