[pulseaudio-discuss] default and alternate sample rates not used?

Hi,

I tried setting these rates to 48000 and 44100 in
~/.pulse/daemon.conf. When playing back different files, it looks like
only the default rate is used.
While playing back I looked at 'cat
/proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/sub0/hw_params' and 'pactl list'. In 'pactl
list' it shows the input sink at the rate of the
file, but the sink always is shown at the configured default rate,
never using the alternate rate, even if the input sink would be at
that rate.
Is there something I am missing?
