You either need to write a PulseAudio profile or an ALSA UCM
configuration file to tell PulseAudio about the ALSA devices/mixer
controls it needs to use to set up the device. Some documentation:

PulseAudio profiles:
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/PulseAudio/Backends/ALSA/Profiles

UCM configuration:
http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa-lib.git;a=blob;f=include/use-case.h
and http://gitorious.org/omap-audio/audio-test/trees/master/ucm/Panda

Arun
