Do pulseaudio expect max. value of all hardware playback volume controls
are at 0dB ( just attentuation and no gain ) ?
since it is using floating point 0.0 <--> 1.0 for (0% to 100%)
How about capture volume as most mic inputs have boost (gain) ?
