[pulseaudio-discuss] Headset volume control changes inbuilt output volume

Hello.  My headset has a mechanism for increasing and decreasing the volume heard.  When I use it, the pulseaudio 'Output devices' tab shows the inbuilt system volume increasing and that, indeed, is what happens.

Is there some file I can alter so that the volume control has the intended result?
