There's no surround profile. Does this command work?
pasuspender -- speaker-test --channels=6 --device=surround51:0
If not, what error does it give? If it says "Unknown PCM surround51:0",
then this is an alsa bug. There should be a configuration file in
alsa-lib that defines the surround51 device for your sound card.
