You can use any audio file with wav extenson,  mono or stereo  (e.g.
/usr/share/sounds/alsa/

The objective is to obtain hw params of surround40

aplay won't play the file unless you have a four channels wav file in  Demo
of  driver CD of  your sound blaster value
