[pulseaudio-discuss] does pulseaudio provide API for accessing USB MIDI keyboards?

My understanding of how to access USB MIDI keyboards on Linux is to use one
of these:

 * ALSA
 * JACK

But pulseaudio sits on top of ALSA, and maybe the user does not have JACK
installed. Does pulseaudio provide an API for accessing USB MIDI keyboards?
