I run various flavors of linux, with release &/or 'stable' kernels.
In all cases, it's KDE w/ pulseaudio. E.g., on my desktop machine,
rpm -qa | grep -i pulse | sort

libpulse0-11.1-14.1.x86_64

I've got Logitech webcams attached -- with both video & audio. E.g.,

The cam & mic work fine. I can record audio via the mic in, e.g. Audacity, with no problems.
BUT ...
when in Google Hangouts videocon, video works perfectly, but the audio simply does not function.
Otoh, If I attach a _separate_ mic via USB, it works fine -- Hangouts uses video from the Logitech + audio from the separate mic.
'Something(TM)' about this integrated cam+mic, &/or my config, is clearly a problem for Hangouts.
I don't know yet where to start looking to troubleshoot this.
Any guidance as to where the problem might originate? Or even where to begin to look?
Hal
