I checked this on an iMac with builtin 15" screen using the MacOS X 10.3
version of Safari, and as mentioned on the call, it appears as a column
of text on the left and a huge logo on the right and unless you notice the
scrollbar on the bottom, you don't know there's another column of text on
the right.
I wonder about this continued design pattern for the X.org & MAS web sites.
What benefit is derived from filling the screen with a huge logo that just
sucks up bandwidth and provides little usefulness? You don't see this on
very many other web sites - you even see those like google going even more
spartan for faster load time and greater compatibility with a wider range of
devices. (I'd imagine this page design is incredibly annoying on a small
handheld device, but don't have one with web connection handy to check.)
