ChangeLog disaster

Ok, we've got a disaster in our changelog file(s). I want to document the
changes which are incorporated in the 'release' and yet those changes are
scattered among three different files with overlapping numbering schemes.
I suggest that we use a single change log file in this conventional change
log format:
2004-04-05 Keith Packard <keithp at keithp.com>
* affected file(s)
what changed
* more affected file(s)
what changed there.
Fixed bug #123456
By using dates, merging the (single) ChangeLog file with CVS we can
get all of the entries correctly sorted with a bit of manual effort.
I've hacked up a lovely shell script to fix the existing change log
entries and create a unified 'ChangeLog' file.
But, the network into psu is severely broken this evening, so much as I'd
like to get an updated ChangeLog file into CVS, it isn't going to happen
tonight.
I'll try to get the ChangeLog mess cleaned up in the morning.
