Where did he "blow up the tree"? He disabled some stuff from building
_by default_ that either (1) the vast majority of people don't use or
(2) X isn't upstream for, while it pretends to be.

The build isn't broken, which blowing up the tree implies, and the
changes certainly aren't reversible by users who want something
different. They're defaults, which are easily changed.

Some things seem to be getting blown out of proportion here.
