Hi list,
for all of you who still struggle with roadster compilation:
I have finally got it working on Debian "testing".
1. install these packages from the standard Debian repository:
* libcairo0.5.1-dev
* libgnomeui-dev
* librsvg2-dev
* libwrap0-dev
* libwraster3-dev (not sure if this is needed)
* libxml2-dev
* libmysqlclient14-dev
These will pull a whole bunch of dependencies.
2. fetch gpsd version 2.15 from the project website, the Debian version
doesn't fit.
Compile and install gpsd.
3. get roadster from cvs
4. in the roadster directory I had to apply the patch posted by Stéphane
Loeuillet and additionally (in configure.ac) remove the '-lmygcc'
option from the
MYSQL_LIBS="`${mysqlconfig} --libmysqld-libs` -lmygcc -lsupc++"
line, as there is no mygcc on my debian system.
Then the compilation went smooth.
Cheers
Arne
