[SCIM] smart pinyin character menu too small

I am using the simplified Chinese input method in scim. When I type some
pinyin a menu appears with characters in it (sorry not sure what to call
it). The characters in this menu are too small and very hard to read.
How can I make them bigger? I have looked through the scim-panel
settings GUI and can't find anything appropriate.

I am using Gentoo Linux with:
scim 0.99.4
scim-tables 0.4.0
scim-chinese 0.4.0
kde 3.2.3
