[SCIM] skim won't compile

What does skim need libGL.la for? After I manually copied this file to
/usr/lib, I then encounter this error:

what is going wrong? how can I compile it successfully?
I am using gcc 3.4.0 and the distro is archlinux with KDE 3.2
