Hi, I am wondering if you have a better solution than reinstall
everything to /usr? Also how can I make the XIM module work? Thanks a
lot.

If you just used ./configure to build you packages, they will be
installed in /usr/local. To be sure, use command ``which scim'' to see
the exact place of the executable scim.

Yes, but if you install them all in /usr/local, scim-chinese won't work.
As Cougar and I have said:

(You can choose to use --sysconfdir=/etc or not, it doesn't really
matter.) And by everything, I mean both scim and scim-chinese. If you
use scim-tables as well, please also rebuild it. Then see if it works
or not.

We used to think that if we know one, we know two, because one and one are
two. We are finding that we must learn a great deal more about ``and''.
