I'm using scim 0.9.6 on gentoo 2004.1 with kde 3.2.2 and gnome 2.6. I have
searched the internet for serveral days to get scim work.
I've found this, if I set the LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.GB18030 or zh_CN.GBK, and
LANG=en_US ( not with utf8) scim works and I can type Chinese, but if I don't
set LC_CTYPE nor LC_ALL, I can see the scim panel, but only with English
input.
What I don't understand is that can scim work with these gentoo default
setting?
LANG=POSIX
LC_CTYPE="POSIX"
LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
LC_TIME="POSIX"
LC_COLLATE="POSIX"
LC_MONETARY="POSIX"
LC_MESSAGES="POSIX"
LC_PAPER="POSIX"
LC_NAME="POSIX"
LC_ADDRESS="POSIX"
LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX"
LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX"
LC_ALL=
or with en_US.UTF-8?
I've made my gentoo support en_US.UTF-8, I can see this entity on the output
list of locale -a. If scim can work with UTF-8 what variable should I set?
