Hi All,

Below is a very short overview of my usb redirection plans, to keep everyone
in the loop. Comments / suggestions welcome!

Step 1:
Get local usb 1.1 redirection (passthrough) working under qemu+kvm. This is
done see the patches I submitted to the qemu and spice mailinglists

Step 2a:
Write an RFC with a protocol for usb redirection over the network.

Step 2b:
Ask on qemu mailinglist if there is interest in usb redirection over the
network in general. If there is it is possibly a good idea to separate
the transport and the rest of the code, so that the usb redirection can
be used without spice too.

Step 3:
Write code to get usb-1.1 redirection working over the network under spice.
Target: spice-0.7.x

Step 4:
Look into getting usb-2.0 support into qemu

Step 5:
Look into getting local usb 2.0 redirection working under qemu

Step 6:
Test usb 2.0 redirection over the network (should just work once step 3 - 5
are in place)

Regards,

Hans
