Even if the function name is explicit, I would rather see:
cursor_channel_send_item(CursorChannel *cursor_channel, ...) {
RedChannel *channel = (CursorChannel *)cursor_channel;
}
to avoid downcasting, perhaps it's matter of taste, but I feel better
with upcasts.
