No, by new I mean 0.6. There are no major changes that break the driver
between 0.6 and 0.8.

Rereading the bottom part (well, actually first time reading, sorry) I
think rebuilding will work, and if you are using RHEL 6 you have to,
like you said RHEL 6 has a too old spice server (0.4.2).
