Hi, Djasa
Yes, we are planning to use opengl/es to accelerate the client drawing operations. I have seen quite some incomplete opengl code in the client, and also some document as well saying that opengl acceleration is a work item in the future. Do we have somehow changed our mind for this?
Anyway we are doing some prototyping and let you know once we have initial result.
Regards
YU Yijun

Spice doesn't use OpenGL in any way currently. What kind of performance improvement are you envisaging, for some of the current client drawing operations (similarly to what Glamor aims to do for X server) or some deeper protocol optimizations across all spice components?
If it is the first, then performance improvements are always welcome but given all the experience here: https://ickle.wordpress.com/ , I think that some comparison of various approaches is necessary to make things actually faster...
