You can try to change screen size with xrandr within VM. This worked 
fine for me up to 1920x1080. My monitor is 2560x1600, though :-(

spicec has spurious keypress bug if the network latency is not low 
enough. Even occurs with localhost sometimes. Better use spicy (spice-gtk).
