But is this patch you sent needed or not? I'd be interested in
integrating the patches you have for better big-endian support, but
this particular one raised some questions about a potential deeper
problem, and I don't have easy access to test machines to dig further
into this.
So feel free to send any patches you have that are still needed for you.
