All other ifs in the code are split like

       if (*endptr != '\0' || usbproduct < 0 ||
           usbproduct > 0xffff) {

not

       if (*endptr != '\0' || usbproduct < 0
           || usbproduct > 0xffff) {

(looks really consistent). I honestly don't think

       if (*endptr != '\0' || usbproduct < 0 || usbproduct > 0xffff) {

is too long.
