[stsf] Why is the XST-XLFD bridge so compliciated ?

- why is the XST-XLFD bridge so compliciated ?
Wouldn't it be much better to provide a wrapper for |XListFonts()| which
completely ignores the font path etc. and only sources the XST font
database, making XLFD entries from that (for exclusive usage by the
other XST-XLFD bridge functions) ? IMHO such a design would be much
easier than trying to deal with fonts from font servers, buildin fonts
etc. ...
