Greetings,
After many iterations, it seems Syncevolution can work with Keepcontacts.
Adjustments were made by Keepcontacts support.
On the client side, the critical piece is running the sync from the
command line interface with the command:
> syncevolution --run --sync refresh-from-local keepcontacts
Once synced, I tried syncing using the GUI. It seemed to work, but in the
end the GUI displayed the message:
Error 22001
I checked the logfile for this error, and there is nothing there that is
being reported.
So, Memotoo and Keepcontacts can successfully be synced from a computer.
>From the phone (Samsung A52 vs Samsung S7 experience), there are some
snits:
Memotoo's data is not visible to the A52 Samsung's native Contacts manager
(Keepcontacts data is visible). So, I tried a few Contacts managers, and
settled on installing Simple Contacts Pro.
For each relevant accounts' data (one that has an addressbook), that data
is accessible via Simple Contacts Pro; on Samsung's A52 contacts manager
Memotoo's account is not visible.
One other Memotoo-related annoyance: Memotoo data is visible to
Simple Contacts Pro; you can initiate calls and text messages from Simple
Contacts Pro. However, when looking through phone log or SMS history, only
the bare numbers are visible, not the associated name from the addressbook.
However, when using Keepcontacts on the A52, the phone and SMS log/history
shows associations to the names in the addressbook.
I've explored the Permissions Manager on the A52, and have compared it to
the Permissions manager settings on the S7. And everything seems to be set
correctly.
I would prefer using the Memotoo data for the Contacts manager (whether
Samsung's or Simple Contacts); it seems that this is embedded in one of
the A52 configurations that I can control.
If this isn't the appropriate forum for this, or if there are better ones,
I would greatly welcome any suggestions on how to proceed.
Much thanks,
Max Pyziur
