          Priority: medium
            Bug ID: 83967
          Assignee: systemd-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: hostnamectl man page is misleading
        QA Contact: systemd-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Severity: normal
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: All
          Reporter: marius.vollmer at redhat.com
          Hardware: Other
            Status: NEW
           Version: unspecified
         Component: general
           Product: systemd

In v213, hostnamed has changed the rules for determining the string to pass to
sethostname, but the hostnamectl man page has not been updated.

The man page still says that the transient hostname will take precedence over
the static hostname as long as it is set, but that's not the case anymore. Now
the static hostname takes precedence (as long as it is useful).
