Bug ID: 89943
Summary: Auto-restart gets in the way of explicit stop requests
Product: systemd
Version: unspecified
Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: general
Assignee: systemd-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: david at davidstrauss.net
QA Contact: systemd-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Sometimes, when you run "systemctl stop SOMETHING.service" the service times
out on the SIGTERM and systemd issues a SIGKILL. This results in systemd
thinking the service failed, causing an auto-restart (if one is configured).
This is surprising behavior since a human explicitly ran a stop command and is
reasonably expecting the service to stay stopped.
