            Bug ID: 89201
Summary: [RFE] hostnamectl to allow custom field storage in
                    /etc/machine-info
           Product: systemd
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: Other
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: general
          Assignee: systemd-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: duncan at innes.net
        QA Contact: systemd-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org

Is there scope for the hostnamectl command being expanded to allow custom
fields & data to be stored in /etc/machine-info

e.g.

[root at machine1 ~]# hostnamectl set-custom PROJECT="Website"
[root at machine1 ~]# cat /etc/machine-info
PROJECT=Website
[root at machine1 ~]#

This would allow custom data to be applied in the /etc/machine-info file for
use by various applications on the server.
