Hmm, please don't take this the wrong way: I am not convinced I want
to have distribution tests in the configure script for every Linux
distribution on the planet. In order to keep things maintainable and
easy for the majority of users I am happy to have automatic tests for the
big distros in there, but for the lesser known distros I'd prefer having
generic configure switches, that can cover them all by simply passing
the right parameters to configure.
Of course, it's difficult to draw the line between the big distros and
those which aren't, but I hope you can understand that I think exherbo
is not a big distro that should be covered by the systemd configure
script, because to be frank I never heard of it before, and the fact
that neither distrowatch nor wikipedia seem to have heard of it either I
have some doubts on the notoriety and sustainability of this distro.
Hence I'd like to politely ask you to rework your patch to introduce a
couple of --with switches for the four otherwise autoconfigured
parameters. This should allow you to build systemd natively for your
distribution, too.

This patch I have applied now.
Thanks,
