first: do NOT reply off-list

looks like you refuse to understand what i trie dto explain

DEFAULTS SINCE THIRTIY YEARS is FULL output
NO pager, NO truncate, no CRAP

this is like 999 out of 1000 unix tools are working
this is a WELL KNOWN behavior all over the world
and independent from the unix-flabour

it it a DESIGN MISTAKE that now a few new tools
go the other direction LEADING in a completly
inconsistent bahavior

who needs a pager starts a pager
who needs a alias for NON-DEFAULT behavior set an alias

BUT NON-default behavior should not be the default of new tools
