Hi
I checked at
http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo
for a user-specific list for systemd; N/A, afaict. looks like this is the right one?
I currently have
systemd --version
systemd 210
+PAM +LIBWRAP +AUDIT +SELINUX -IMA +SYSVINIT +LIBCRYPTSETUP +GCRYPT +ACL +XZ +SECCOMP +APPARMOR
running on my Opensuse distro.
While trying to troubleshoot some _other_ issues, I started tailing my system log (/var/log/messages) -- NOT the systemd journal, and see this
var/log/messages
...

...
That's a LOT of not very useful "Started Session ## of user root" noise in system logs that gets in the way of managing my system. Those messages are EnergizerBunny-entries -- they just keep going, and going, and going. They're clearly NOT telling me anything helpful -- like that there's a problem, or a state change from "good->bad".
How do I turn that level of systemd logging to my syslog OFF, or reduce it to something more reasonable? If systemd wants to log to its journal that's one thing -- I understand that we're supposed to "just filter out what you need". But syslog's a different story.
Thanks,
Jerry
