Your remark here is relevant. After googling a little bit "Linux
container", many wiki/articles refer to the "HOST" as opposed to the
"CONTAINER". But you are right, as traditionally the term host in the
computing language refers to the machine you are running on.

Virtual machines, and now container become more and more popular, and
in this way we maybe shall to think about a correct term, different
from the generic host, to define the "primary OS". When reading about
container setup, I found myself many times unable to understand on
which system configuration files shall be installed. And left with
this question : what system I am running on ?
This clarification could well help all wiki dealing with virtualization.
