[systemd-devel] How to make debug-shell more usable?

Hi,

if one is trying to debug (eary-)boot issues, debug-shell.service is a
handy tool.

Unfortunately there is the very unpleasant side effect, that systemd
spews all log messages to tty9, once you switched to that tty, making
it almost impossible to work on this shell.
If it reaches a timeout for a critical device, the emergency shell is
even started on tty9, if debug-shell is active. At this point, the
debug shell becomes basically useless, as you have two processes
fighting over tty9.

Is there a way to make tty9/debug-shell more usable, by restricting
the log messages to tty1 / have emergency mode always be started on
tty1?

Michael
